    • Week 9: chapter 17, 18:  WWII and the Civil War (Nationalist- Communist)(Oct. 19 – Oct. 25)
    • Week 10: chapters 19, 20: Founding of the People’s Republic up to late 1950s (Oct. 26- Nov. 1)
    • Week 11: chapters 21, 22: The Great Leap Forward (into the Famine_, and the Cultural Revolution (or the Ten Year (Nov. 2 – Nov. 8)
  • Module 5: Re-entering the world: 
    • Week 12: chapters 23, 24: thaw in relations with the US, and the four (or five) modernizations  (Nov. 9 – Nov. 15)
    • Week 13: China opening up?  (Nov. 16 – Nov. 22)
    • Thanksgiving break week: Nov. 23- Nov. 29) –> Catch up, rewrite, plan final Show and Tell project
    • Week 14: chapters 27, 28: up to the present (if you like) (Nov. 30 – Dec. 6)
